DESIGN FOR A TEMPORARY EXHIBITION AT THE CENTRAL NATIONAL LIBRARY OF FLORENCE

The exhibition design of the temporary exhibition held in Florence at the National Central Library was designed to celebrate the artistic itinerary of the twentieth century through a process: the one that led the illustrated book to become an artist’s book and an object of art. An installation was conceived that could dialogue with the monumental spaces, of considerable height, characterized by very precise geometries. It therefore seemed important to develop vertical elements also suitable for the observation from different sides of the three-dimensional objects on display. Totems were created with plexiglass inserts, a lighting system, both, inside the individual display cases and from above, to light up the paths; the project included also a series of low displays for the entrance area.
